SMALL WATER COLORED MIXED MEDIA CARDS | UNDER WATER THEMED | SIZZIX

Hi everyone! How are you? Today I have a slightly different project for you. I love mixed media but I wanted it to be simple. I watched many video tutorials but nothing caught my eye and I thought everything was too much for me until I found this channel on YouTube - Susanne Rose Art. Her simple mixed media art really inspired me to take courage in creating these lovely little cards but I definitely gave my twist to it. Her videos are perfect for beginners like me :D

MY CARD MAKING DETAILS

  • I started by die-cutting the cute Crab and Starfish thinlit dies by Sizzix called Under the Sea out of white cardstock through Sizzix SideKick Machine.
  • I took small sized cards, gave a dark blue water color wash to the background.
  • I also water colored the die-cuts in Yellow, Orange and Red.
  • I let the cards and die-cuts dry completely.
  • Once they are dry , I adhered news print pattern paper as shown above.
  • I also gave a wash of Gesso by Papericious.
  •  Also added splatters of blue, white and nude water colors to mimic under the sea.
  • Finally I adhered the cute things, the sentiment was hand written and finished the card with a twine.

Very simple, right! If possible I shall share a video with you making cards in my own version. I love using news print and text on my projects also.

I'm entering this cards for Daring Card Makers Inky Background Challenge and Craftangles Anything Goes Challenge. I hope you like my project. Thank you so much for visiting and I'll see you next time.

CASOLOGY CHALLENGE WEEK 363 | SKYLINE

Hello everyone! Welcome to another lovely challenge at CASology challenge where the cue word is 'skyline'. I hope you guys would join the fun.

I actually was in a hurry while making this card and I wanted to keep the card really simple. So I went with the neutral tones with a hint of color. I quickly die-cut the Landscape Border die out of  black card stock through SideKick Machine and adhered as shown in the above pic. I didn't want the image adhered to be flat so I applied the glue only to the centre part of the image. This really added so much depth to the card design.

Finally punched out a heart out of red card stock and adhered to the card front and finished it with a sentiment as well. I hope you like it and please don't forget to play along the challenge. Thank you :)

WITH LOVE CARDS | SIZZIX

Hello everyone! How are you all? Today I have a cute card to share with you and the card features the new die and stamp set from Sizzix called Celebration Phrases Framelits.

CARD MAKING DETAILS

This is the beautiful Celebration Phrases Framelit die set with stamps. The dies and stamps in this set are very cute.

I started by die-cutting all the images out of white glossy card stock.

Then I colored it with Sizzix Permanent Markers and also stamped the sentiment inside the speech bubble.

I adhered all the images over the card front with tacky glue and foam mounted the speech bubble. I decorated the flowers with some gold enamel gem stones.

And that pretty much finishes the first card. I have also made another card with the same dies but changed the color theme.

HAPPY NEWS | HAPPY NEW YEAR | CELEBRATING YOU CARD | PICTORIAL | SIZZIX

I wish you all a very Happy and Blessed New Year, stay blessed everyone. :)

This is the first card of the year but before getting into details I would like to start with a very sweet happy news. I've been selected as a design team memberof my very favourite blog - CASology. How I dreamt about being on their team!! My wish this year had come true. :)

This year I decided to show pictorials for each and every card/project I make. I hope I keep up  my word. Let's see!! And also I have a YouTube channel, please help me and support me by subscribing to my channel. ;)

CARD MAKING DETAILS

These beautiful dies are from Sizzix called Freestyle Florals. I will be using the leaf die for my project today.

I ran the die and white glossy card stock several times through the Sizzix Sidekick Machine.

I went for a glossy card stock because the ink just glides on the paper and doesn't absorb and adds a rich look to the overall card design.

The ink I was talking about is this 'Camlin Brush Pens'. I love these pens because they are highly pigmented.

I was experimenting by adding layers with colors. It's really a fun technique, just give it a try.

How funky and messy they look ;) Love it.

I adhered all the leaves side by side with Tacky glue.

I stamped the sentiment from 'Everyday Sentiments by Sizzix' with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I fussy cut the sentiment and foam mounted over the leaves.

To add more interest I added a few dots with a black permanent marker.

A few more shots for you here..

I hope you like the card. Thank you so much for stopping by today. See you later! :)

STUDIO VLOG #2 | WHAT I DO IN MY STUDIO | HAPPY GHOSTS CARD | SIZZIX

Hello my dear lovely crafty friends, how have you been?

CARD DETAILS

Today I'm back with another Studio Vlog and with a very Happy Ghosts Card. I used 'Happy Halloween Bigz Die,' 'Sentiments Thinlit Dies' by Sizzix to create the project and also I used CrafTangles Liquid Watercolors to color in the ghosts.

I've die-cut all the elements from heavy weight white card stock by running it through the Big Shot Plus Machine. Water colored them and adhered over the card front. To add more definition to the card I added splatters of black paint and adhered the sentiment hello on top of the ghosts.

VIDEO DETAILS

I've recorded all my acts and made a video for your education and entertainment. Kindly watch it and subscribe to my YouTube Channel.

I hope you like the card and video. Thanks so much for stopping by and I will see you very soon! :)

FOUR ORIGAMI STYLE ANIMAL CARDS | SIZZIX

Hi everyone! Welcome back! It's been a couple of weeks since I posted anything here. The reason behind my absence was we've moved to a new place. The place, the house and the environment is pretty good but I miss my mom, my hometown and my kitchen very much. It took me a week to get adjusted to this atmosphere, I was literally crying like a baby for my mom! I miss her so so much! But I made up my mind and hence here I am today :D

This was the second batch of cards I made in this new home, I already made a few for my Craftangles DT work and working on few projects for the upcoming Catherine Pooler's Release Hop. A little busy me! Anyhow, I used the newly released Origami Style Thinlit Dies from Sizzix for my projects today!

Products Used

How I made these cards
  1. I trimmed and folded the card stock to an A2 sized card base.
  2. I blended Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks to the center of the card front.
  3. Then added splatters of water and same ink and let that dry.
  4. Meanwhile, I die-cut the Origami Animals out of Sizzix Card Stock with Sidekick Machine.
  5. Lastly I added the sentiment and then popped the die-cuts over the card front.
Here are few more stills for you!

The sentiments are from Catherine Pooler's Simply the Best stamp set. Entering this bunch of cards for CASology Week 334: FUNKY.

I hope you liked the cards. Thank you so much for stopping by, take care and I'll see you next time! :)
