FIVE SIMPLE BIRTHDAY CARDS FOR MEN WITH SIZZIX GEOMETRIC MASK THINLIT DIES

Hello my dear lovely crafters, how are you?

Today I have not one or two but five cards to share with you all. These are all the Simple Birthday Cards for men in our lives. Be it your father or your brother or your husband or your boy friend or just anybody, these cards would be absolutely perfect for them. I really kept it simple as I don't want to add any bling or embellish it with any shine as this would be for men ;) I used Sizzix Geometric Mask Thinlit Die to make my cards.

visit sizzix.co.uk & sizzix.com for more inspiration and education.

CARD DETAILS

I started by simply selecting the card stock colors for my cards. I have already planned the card designs a couple of days ago so it was easy for me to execute the design.

This Geometric Mask thinlit die set contains five thinlits. I ran each thinlit die with the selected card stock through the BigShot Plus Machine.

By the way I used Sizzix Card Stock as my panels. Once my die-cuts are ready, I adhered them over the card front with Tacky Glue.

I felt something was missing in this card so I hand drew a couple of lines with the black permanent marker.

This card is already looking like a cupcake, right? Oh yeah! You can use those die-cuts as clouds as well. :)

And this one is my favourite among all. The background was created by running the dotted thinlit die through BigShot Machine several times.

Once I adhered all the panels, I added splatters of black ink to some cards and I didn't add the splatters for the rest.

Once the splatters dry, I stamped and foam mounted the Birthday Sentiments to the cards.

STUDIO VLOG #2 | WHAT I DO IN MY STUDIO | HAPPY GHOSTS CARD | SIZZIX

Hello my dear lovely crafty friends, how have you been?

CARD DETAILS

Today I'm back with another Studio Vlog and with a very Happy Ghosts Card. I used 'Happy Halloween Bigz Die,' 'Sentiments Thinlit Dies' by Sizzix to create the project and also I used CrafTangles Liquid Watercolors to color in the ghosts.

I've die-cut all the elements from heavy weight white card stock by running it through the Big Shot Plus Machine. Water colored them and adhered over the card front. To add more definition to the card I added splatters of black paint and adhered the sentiment hello on top of the ghosts.

VINTAGE STYLE BEACH CARD | SIZZIX LIFESTYLE

Hello everyone! Today I have a vintage style beach card for you perfect for this summer! I used the brand new Timholtz thinlit dies called Beach and the newly launched Card Stock and Permanent Pens by Sizzix Lifestyle. These card stocks are textured and add so much depth to your projects. I'm totally in love with it! :D I also used the Multi Tool to distress the edges of the small panel. I'm coming with a video about Sizzix Permanent Pens this Wednesday so stay tuned! :)

HOW I MADE THIS CARD
  • I started by folding the Grey Colored Card Stock into an A2 side folding card.
  • Then I tore the light blue card stock just to resemble the waves in the beach and also adhered the Straw Colored Card stock to the light blue one.
  • I ran all the thinlit dies through the Big Shot Plus Machine, die-cut them from White Card Stock and colored those die-cuts using Permanent Markers and assembled them with the glue.
  • I ink blended the edges of the whole panel and the card base with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
  • With the help of Multi Tool, I distressed the edges of the smaller panel.
  • Adhered all the die-cut elements over the smaller panel and added splatters of Vintage Photo Distress Ink for some cool effect.
  • Finally adhered the panel over the main card base and added shimmer to the die-cuts with Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.

HOW I MADE THIS CARD
  • I followed the sketch of Lawnfawnatic's current Sketch Challenge. So I trimmed a white panel slightly smaller than the main card base and die-cut a circle out of it using Circle Framelit Dies and Big Shot Plus Machine.
  • I also die-cut the brick wall from Mixed Media #3 out of white card stock.
  • Over the smaller panel I ink blended half of the portion with Sweet Sixteen and the remaining with Bellini inks.
  • To add more depth and interest, I added splatters of water, gold and silver paint to the panel. The background was really shiny and beautiful but the camera couldn't capture it well.
  • Onto the main card base, I applied Pixie Dust ink where the window is present. To create more depth I added splatters of water and blotted the excess with a tissue paper.
  • I stamped all the solid images with Archival Green ink and Party Dress Ink on white card stock. I also stamped the deer and colored them with Permanent Pens fussy cut them and kept aside.
  • I glued the brick wall die-cut over the smaller panel and stacked the animals inside the window and adhered all the solid stamped images forming a wreath.
  • Finally stamped the sentiment on vellum card stock and gold embossed it.
  • To embellish the card I added a few clear sequins from Mudra.

THREE CUTE EASTER SPRING CARDS | SIZZIX LIFESTYLE

Hello everyone! How are you doing? Today's projects are going to be the cutest and they are very simple to make. My cards feature Spring Time Thinlit Die from Sizzix Lifestyle. These dies are great for making both Spring and Easter Cards/projects. I did some simple copic coloring to my die-cuts, I have a very few collection of Copics and I love working every bit of bit. :)

Products from Sizzix Lifestyle

I die-cut the dies from white card stock, colored them with copic markers. 'The bunny (standing) is balancing and bringing a pot of Easter eggs to his friend who is waiting near the floral bushes!' ;)

All the die-cuts were colored with copics and adhered over the ink (peacock feathers distress ink) blended panel. I did some Reverse Die-cutting

Look how I colored the die-cuts! Yep! I did dimensional coloring with copics. I hope you like them. Thanks for visiting :)

BLESSING CARD | SIZZIX LIFESTYLE

It's been a while since I've used Distress Inks, Embossing Powder, favorite color combo and one of my favorite techniques - Ink Smooshing. Last night, while I was sitting down and thinking about the colors, these colors strike my mind. Next morning i.e., today I put my plans and thoughts into action. I like brown with pink and blue color combos. That gorgeous floral die is called Pretty Peony by Sizzix Lifestyle

Products from Sizzix Lifestyle

CARD MAKING DETAILS

Ink smooshing is one of my favourite techniques. I started by smooshing the heavy card stock with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I let the panel dry and added second and third layers of color. Again I let the panel dry and added splatters of Vintage Photo, Egyptian Gold Paint and Picket Fence Paint with a paint brush. Sometimes it's fun to create such grungy backgrounds! ;)

I die-cut the Pretty Peony out of heavy white card stock and water colored the die-cuts with Picked Raspberry (flowers) and Gold Paint (leaves). By the way, this Pretty Peony is two layered die-cut set.

I stamped the sentiment onto the ink smooshed panel with Versafine Ink and poured White Embossing Powder from Zing and heat set it with Ranger heat it tool. Before stamping the sentiment I prepped the panel with Anti Static powder tool to remove any static from the paper.

I foam mounted the floral over the card front and adhered the panel over the main white card base.

I embellished the card with golden and clear sequins from Mudra

Also applied Wink of Stella clear glitter to the flower.

And that's it. I hope you like it. Thank you so much for visiting :)

YOU ARE MY FAVORITE CARD | SIZZIX LIFESTYLE

'You Are My Favourite' said Mommy Giraffe to baby Giraffe. Baby Giraffe was so happy (look at those smiling eyes). Mother's love is great, nobody can measure it! :) This card features the Giraffes Thinlit Die set and it is layered die set.

Products fro Sizzix Lifestyle

CARD MAKING DETAILS

This card measures 5x4 which is smaller than the regular card size. Some how I like this sized cards because the images fit perfectly and I think it's kind of cosy! You know what I mean!? :) I trimmed another panel smaller than the main card base and applied Camlin Water Colors (these are school water colors but they are so richly pigmented) in Pink to the panel, in a gradient manner and let it dry for sometime. I like adding splatters of paints so I went ahead and added splatters of black paint with a paint brush.

I die-cut the giraffes out of white card stock and water colored them with Yellow color. I placed the layer die-cut over the giraffes, die-cut it, layered it with black card stock behind. I adhered them with glue and stamped the sentiment from Altenew in CP Designs Midnight Ink

I also added details on face with black permanent marker (love those sweet faces) and foam mounted it on top of the main card base. Also embellished it few sequins from Mudra.

FOR CHALLENGES
And that's all for today. I hope you like my card. Are you wondering about the photo backdrop? It's just a printer paper used for other projects as a base to protect my work surface. It thought it was colorful and funky! So I used it as a photo backdrop. :)
