ME AND MY PUG

Hello everyone! I like Dogs, we had a pug but he left us three years ago. That's really a sad and heart breaking because he died exactly a few months after the demise of my dad. He used to sleep with my father. Such a huge loss for us and we were in so much grief, we lost both our beloveds in less than no time. I'm so sorry if I bothered you with the saddest part of my life. Anyhow we coped with the things and we are doing good by the Grace of God. :)

The images was hand drawn as you guys know how much I love doodling. I tried no line water-coloring and it's such a therapeutic. I love to fussy cut and water color the images while watching to my favourite programs.

MY CARD MAKING DETAILS

  • I started by water-coloring the background with grey, purple, yellow, blue and nude shades and added splatters of the same colors and I let the panel dry.
  • I fussy cut the leaf images from Craftangles element packs.
  • I hand drew the image and tried no-line watercoloring.
  • Once everything is dry I went ahead and adhered all the images as shown
  • To add more depth and definition to the card, I applied a wash of Gesso from Papericious here and there.

And that's the card for today. I didn't want to add any sentiment because I love the way it looks.

SMALL WATER COLORED MIXED MEDIA CARDS | UNDER WATER THEMED | SIZZIX

Hi everyone! How are you? Today I have a slightly different project for you. I love mixed media but I wanted it to be simple. I watched many video tutorials but nothing caught my eye and I thought everything was too much for me until I found this channel on YouTube - Susanne Rose Art. Her simple mixed media art really inspired me to take courage in creating these lovely little cards but I definitely gave my twist to it. Her videos are perfect for beginners like me :D

MY CARD MAKING DETAILS

  • I started by die-cutting the cute Crab and Starfish thinlit dies by Sizzix called Under the Sea out of white cardstock through Sizzix SideKick Machine.
  • I took small sized cards, gave a dark blue water color wash to the background.
  • I also water colored the die-cuts in Yellow, Orange and Red.
  • I let the cards and die-cuts dry completely.
  • Once they are dry , I adhered news print pattern paper as shown above.
  • I also gave a wash of Gesso by Papericious.
  •  Also added splatters of blue, white and nude water colors to mimic under the sea.
  • Finally I adhered the cute things, the sentiment was hand written and finished the card with a twine.

Very simple, right! If possible I shall share a video with you making cards in my own version. I love using news print and text on my projects also.

I'm entering this cards for Daring Card Makers Inky Background Challenge and Craftangles Anything Goes Challenge. I hope you like my project. Thank you so much for visiting and I'll see you next time.

ART JOURNAL PAGE #1 - MIRACLES HAPPEN | SIZZIX LIFESTYLE | VIDEO

Hi everyone! Today I'm so happy that I'm sharing my first ever proper Art Journal Page Video with you. I have been a very big fan of Vicky's Art Journal Pages but I didn't have courage to start over. It took me more than four years to lose fear and to create one. I have shared my first page (no video) HERE. After watching the result, I was quite confident enough to start my new love. :)

This Art Journal Page is made for Sizzix Lifestyle using their beautiful dies. The good thing about Sizzix Lifestyle's dies are they compliment each other very well and enhance the beauty of the design. I would like to thank Vicky for inspiring me, Yainea for the lovely glass jar technique and Sandy Allnock for glass effect technique! :)

ART JOURNAL PAGE PROCESS

I started by die-cutting all the die-cuts out of heavy weight white card stock and kept it aside. To a 6x6 panel (heavy weight card stock), I applied a generous coat of Heavy Gesso from Papericious. This Gesso dries very fast so I applied Dark Blue Acrylic Color to resemble the night sky and Black Acrylic Color for the ground. By the way, these Acrylic Colors are from Fevicryl, an Indian brand. These are super duper awesome! :)

I wanted the stars to stand out in the background so I added splatters of heavy gesso. This gesso splatters doesn't soak through the paper or doesn't take the color from the background. I placed the Mason Jar from Spring Time set, colored it the way to look like glass. Also colored the birds in gold acrylic paint. Also gave tiny details with silver gel pen to the top of the mason jar for metal finishing.

I adhered the mason jar and the birds with Tacky glue. I like how the tiny birds are coming out from the jar. So magical! :D This applied this concept on one of my old cards, check HERE.

The mason jar without some glass effect is nothing, so I applied a light coat of Gesso over the jar. It does look like glass, right? ;)

And finished the page with Dainty Lowercase Alphas. Yes! Miracles Happen! All you need to do is stay strong, do not lose your faith and wait for the miracle to happen! :)

WATCH & ENJOY

Here is a video showing you the entire process of this Art Journal Page. I hope you'll enjoy! :)

And that's all for today. I hope you like it. Thanks for visiting :)

THROUGH CHRIST | MIXED MEDIA PAGE | SIZZIX LIFESTYLE

Hello everyone! I can say with a little pride that this is my first proper Mixed Media page because I used Gesso (my first ever) and Acrylic Paints for the first time. Do you like the Unicorn in the pic? It's so beautiful and colorful and yesterday it was lying all alone on my desk beautifully :) The acrylic paints from Hobby Ideas are so vibrant and so pretty. I am very much happy with the project I made, I will make a few more, once I'm confident enough I'll share the entire making process through videos. And this project is done for Sizzix Lifestyle.

Recently I launched a FB page called 'Apple and Cupcake' where I make and sell 100% handmade books. The profits earned through 'Apple and Cupcake' will go into service and developmental actions for the unprivileged. When I had a thought of starting this, I really had so many confusions and fears but the verse in the above pic spoke to me directly and repeatedly. Then I took courage and started putting my efforts in Apple and Cupcake. This art goes straight on my book binding table wall, so whenever I see this I get courage and I say to myself 'Yes! I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me'. :)

MIXED MEDIA PROCESS

I applied a generous coat of Gesso from Papericious on a very thick/heavy weight paper. This Gesso dries very fast and helps the art making process easy.

Then I die-cut the Unicorn out of white card stock a couple of times and applied acrylic paints to it.

I added some details to the Unicorn's body with the same acrylic paints.

Also added eyes, mouth and hoofs with black permanent marker.

I applied Dark Blue and Purple and Gold acrylic paints to the background and once it's dry I added droplets of white and gold acrylic paint splatters. The background looks so gorgeous!

Here is another close up shot for you!

Close up shot - details on Unicorn's body! :)

Finally I adhered the Unicorn and all the alphas with tacky glue. I hope you like it. Thank you so much for visiting. :)

Pumpkin | Sizzix Lifestyle | Video

Hello everyone! This is one long due post made for Sizzix Lifestyle. If you follow me you know me that I've fallen in love for Mixed Media. The fun part about this card was 'turning those oval framelit dies into a Pumpkin'.

Sizzix Lifestyle Products

Card Project Details

I started by die-cutting all the dies from Cansan Montval Water Color Paper and water colored them with Distress Inks. Leaves - Festive Berries, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed. Pumpkin - Spiced Marmalade and Festive Berries. Once the die-cuts were dry I applied Vintage Photo Distress Ink along the edges to enhance the details. I also hand drew the stem and colored with Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.

I ink smooshed the Kraft Card Stock with Vintage Photo and ran it through the Big Shot Machine along with Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I inked up the embossing folder with Vintage Photo and Black Soot Distress Ink for some extra interest.

Then I adhered all the die-cuts as shown above. To add more depth to the card, I added splashes of white - Picket Fence and gold - Egyptian Gold paints with a paint brush. I also added Star Dust Stickles here and there for the sparkly effect. Finally finished the card with a sentiment and foam mounted the panel over the main card base.

I have filmed a video for you, Enjoy! :)

Mixed Media Project | Graceful Angel | Sizzix Lifestyle

I love not only creating CAS cards but I also love making Mixed Media Projects. When I see the masterpieces created by Mixed Media Artists, my jaw automatically drops down and I feel that 'Man! I should make something like that!' After so many trials and errors (for years I can say) finally I realized that Mixed Media is nothing but adding/incorporating different or several or various elements to your projects in a creative way. Simple, right?

I started my project by ink smooshing the background of a heavy white white card stock in Vintage Photo and Frayed Burlap Distress inks.

I torn a piece of cardboard and applied the mixture of white glue + perfect pearls + glitter + white paint over it.

Next I die-cut Graceful Angel out of white card stock and colored the dress with Festive berries and wings with Black Soot distress ink.

I added some dimension to it's wings by adding foam tape

Then I die-cut Antique Doily out of gold glitter card stock.

Before adhering all things together, I distressed the edges with a pair of scissors.

Also torn the edges and curled it with my fingers. Then I added splatters of Picket Fence Distress Paint and I let the panel dry for sometime.

Once everything was dry, I adhered all the elements together along with a sentiment strip. That's it!! I love how this project turned out. Thank you so much for visiting, have fun :)

You Are Simply The Best | Layout

Hello everyone! This is my very first proper Mixed Media Layout and I'm happy how it turned out. I was very much inspired by the mood board I saw on Berry71Bleu "Navy Is My Neutral" November 2016 Challenge :) Very cool!

I sprayed Mermaid Lagoon and Memento Fire Paris Dusk ink sprays on 8x8 heavy white card layout. I allowed the inks to drip and flow!

Next I applied gold and silver paints with my fingers and applied Crackle Accents here and there!

Next I stamped 'cherish, love, adore' stamp from Kaisercraft in Archival Jet Black Ink.

Next I die-cut two butterflies from Sizzix and colored them with the same colors and adhered the larger butterfly at the center with twine as my focal point. Also adhered the smaller butterfly at the left with some washi tapes!

Next stamped the sentiment from Technique Tuesday on black card stock and heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder.

Finally added a few sequins and finished my layout. I'm very new to this Mixed Media thing and I don't have the right supplies. But I decided to start with whatever stuff I have in my stash because I'm in love with it! I hope you like it. Thanks for visiting! :)
