YOU ARE MY FAVORITE CARD | SIZZIX LIFESTYLE

'You Are My Favourite' said Mommy Giraffe to baby Giraffe. Baby Giraffe was so happy (look at those smiling eyes). Mother's love is great, nobody can measure it! :) This card features the Giraffes Thinlit Die set and it is layered die set.

Products fro Sizzix Lifestyle

CARD MAKING DETAILS

This card measures 5x4 which is smaller than the regular card size. Some how I like this sized cards because the images fit perfectly and I think it's kind of cosy! You know what I mean!? :) I trimmed another panel smaller than the main card base and applied Camlin Water Colors (these are school water colors but they are so richly pigmented) in Pink to the panel, in a gradient manner and let it dry for sometime. I like adding splatters of paints so I went ahead and added splatters of black paint with a paint brush.

I die-cut the giraffes out of white card stock and water colored them with Yellow color. I placed the layer die-cut over the giraffes, die-cut it, layered it with black card stock behind. I adhered them with glue and stamped the sentiment from Altenew in CP Designs Midnight Ink

I also added details on face with black permanent marker (love those sweet faces) and foam mounted it on top of the main card base. Also embellished it few sequins from Mudra.

FOR CHALLENGES
And that's all for today. I hope you like my card. Are you wondering about the photo backdrop? It's just a printer paper used for other projects as a base to protect my work surface. It thought it was colorful and funky! So I used it as a photo backdrop. :)

WATERCOLOR RAINBOW BUTTERFLY CARD | SIZZIX LIFESTYLE

Hello everyone! Do you like butterflies? I do, sometimes! The butterfly die I used for my today's project for Sizzix Lifestyle is Floral Butterfly thinlit die. It's very gorgeous, intricate and beautiful.

PRODUCTS FROM SIZZIX LIFESTYLE

CARD MAKING DETAILS

I started by applying School Watercolors by Camel in a Rainbow color order and I let the panel dry for sometime. Then I placed the Floral Butterfly Thinlit Die over the water colored panel and ran it through the Big Shot Plus Machine.

I took a standard sized card and another panel smaller than the main card base. To that smaller panel I added splatters of black paint for some lovely look. Next I stamped the sentiment from Mudra's Doodled Elements on a strip of paper with Midnight ink by CP Designs.

And adhered the butterfly over the stamped sentiment strip and foam mounted the panel over the main card base. And that's it! :)

If you are my regular blog reader you know that I love Water Colors and how much I am in love with it. I have a very few water color mediums like Distress Inks, Koi Water Colors, Student water Colors, Water color Markers and Faber Castell Water Color Pencils. Since I am a water color enthusiast I googled and searched best and inexpensive water color supplies for beginners. Yep! I am a beginner too so you'll certainly find a lot of mistakes in today's post. :p

Basic Water Color Supplies for Beginners

(Disclaimer : All opinions are my own. I found these supplies work best for me. If you want to purchase or if you feel other supplies work best for you then that's good! Once again all opinions are my own!!)

CARD MAKING PROCESS

I started by cutting down the water paper exactly to the size of the main card base then I started hand painting the flowers. To paint the solid images I used medium flat brush.

And for the brisk strokes on the inside of the flower I used a fine tip paint brush.

I then drew the stems and leaves. They are not at all perfect but I liked it :) Later I added a wash of green color at the bottom of the water color panel and muted down the color by adding some water.

I added splatters of black paint and stamped the sentiment from Mudra - Wild Rose in Archival Jet Black Ink. Finally I adhered the panel over the main card base with Red Sticky Tape!

I have two cards to share!

Hello friends! Today I have two cards to share and to make these cards I followed Yana Smakula's water coloring tutorial.. She water colored the paper and then die-cut the images, since I don't own any die-cutting machine I used my heart punch and butterfly punch to create my own back ground.. ;) So here we go!

The first one is a shaker card.. Entering this card for Virginia's View Challenge - Shaker cards..

Love the soft pastel look of the hearts..

Here is the second one!

Aww! I love those butterflies!!

Entering both the cards for CAS-ual Fridays CFC 136 - Water colors

Letter!

Hello friends! My digital camera lens got damaged.. so you have to excuse me for the poor quality pictures (I'm using my mobile for taking the pictures).. :(

Anyway, I made a card for CASology and the cue word is letter..

I masked and sponged the back ground and then I sprinkled some water with a paint brush and to give some little bit of interest I took an ordinary note book paper and placed it on to the top of the card, the water and the print on the paper got reacted and gave this distressed look with a little bit of pink lines..

I hand drew the bottle image (got inspired by one of the google images) and water colored it with markers.. Finally stamped the sentiment .. And also entering this card for Beyond Grey Challenges #57 Watercolors and Kraft Zone #8 CAS..

Thanks for visiting.. :)

Water Coloring on a Glossy Cardstock!

Hello friends! Have you ever tried water coloring on a glossy card stock?
NO? then must really give it a try. You'll get awesome results!!

Well.. here is my card!

I used Archival jet black ink for stamping the flowers. Then I used my Korean brand markers to water color the image. Then added some splatters of water using a paint brush, the ink reacts beautifully with water..

Hope you like it.. Well.. I'll be busy next month, you can only find my scheduled DT posts here..
Thanks so much for stopping by.. Love you guys!! <3
