CRAFTANGLES JULY BLOG HOP - ALTERED ART / MIXED MEDIA

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Craftangles July Blog Hop where the theme is Altered Art and Mixed Media. I chose Mixed Media because I don't know how to alter an item :P

I have pictorial for this project.. Enjoy! :)

Take a 6x6 heavy weight or water color card stock and apply some acrylic colors in the shades of blue just to mimic under ocean.

Mix Paper Texture Paste from Craftangles with Green acrylic paint and mix well. Here as you can see, I'm being very messy! :)

Now apply the paste through the stencil.

Dab the Texture Paste at the bottom to mimic the sand.

Also add splatters of white acrylic paint and let it dry completely.

Meanwhile, stamp the cute images from By the Sea Side stamp set with Alcohol Friendly Ink and color in the images with Alcohol Markers. Fussy cut it and keep aside.

Once the texture paste dries, add the details to the leaves with Green Marker.

Finally adhere the images with Tacky Glue and stamp the sentiment with Archival Jet Black Ink.

a few more close up shots for you

And that's the project for today. I hope you like it.

CARD WITHOUT A SENTIMENT | SIZZIX LIFESTYLE

Hello everyone! Welcome back! Today I have a card for you but without a sentiment. This is a Christmas Card with non traditional dies. :)

PRODUCTS FROM SIZZIX LIFESTYLE

HOW I MADE THIS CARD
  • I placed one of the Stacked Baroque thinlit dies and ran through the Sizzix Bigshot Express Machine.
  • I also die-cut the branch and the bird out of white card stock and colored them with Vintage Photo and Festive Berries Distress Ink.
  • I distressed the background with Broken China Distress Ink and added splashes of water for some snow fall look.
  • Finally I adhered the die-cut window along with the bird and branch and finished with a little sparkle from Stardust Stickles.
I hope you like the card. I'm entering this card for CAS on Sunday Challenge #137 Christmas in July. Thank you so much for visiting. See you next time! :)

CUTE OWL CARD WITH NO STAMPS AND INKS | SIZZIX LIFESTYLE

I challenged myself not to use any stamps or inks or water colors on this card. When it comes to die-cutting, I automatically search for coloring mediums. So this time I challenged myself not to use any of those! Do you like the card? My card features Sizzix Bigz Die - Owl and Sizzix Card Stock by Sizzix Lifestyle. :)

I've been hoarding ( I think it's better to say I forgot ) this cute Claire Stamp Set from Waffle Flower Crafts for about two years now and finally I was able to make something cute out of it. I wanted to go real clean and simple this time!

HOW I MADE THIS CARD

  • I started by stamping the cute monkey from Claire stamp set by Waffle Flower Crafts on a white card stock.
  • I copic colored the image really simple, no shading nothing!
  • Then I fussy cut the image and kept aside.
  • On a light blue card stock which is textured, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with CP Midnight Ink.
  • I foam mounted the image over the card stock and embellished with clear sequins
  • Finally adhered the panel over the main card base which is a standard sized card.

WAY TOO SWEET CARD | ALTENEW

Hello everyone! Masking, Stamping and Water Coloring are my favourite techniques. So today's card is a bit sweet with the three ingredients mentioned above! ;)

HOW I MADE THIS CARD

  • I started by ink blending the lower portion of the smaller panel with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink.
  • I added splatters of water for some water color look.
  • On another piece of card stock, I stamped the images from Way too Sweet stamp set, masked them and stamped again with Archival Jet Black Ink.
  • Then I water colored all the sweets with Koi Water Colors.
  • Then I fussy cut the panel with a pair of scissors and popped over the ink blended panel.
  • Finally stamped the sentiment from the same set with Archival Jet Black Ink.
  • I stamped the toppings with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink.

And that's all for today. I'm entering this card for Altenew July 2018 Inspiration Challenge. I hope you liked it. Thanks for visiting! :)

SUNFLOWER CARD | SIZZIX LIFESTYLE

Hello everyone! This Sizzix Sunflower Thinlit Die is one of my favourites. I wanted to make a simple CAS card this time with a splash of water color. So here is mine for Sizzix Lifestyle :)

The Products from Sizzix Lifestyle

On a standard heavy weight card, I sprayed Craftangles Sunny Yellow Dye Spray and let it dry. Meanwhile, I die-cut all the thinlits from Sizzix Sunflower Thinlit Die from white cardstock and water colored them with Distress Inks. Once everything is dry I adhered all the die-cuts with glue and foam tape and finished with the sentiment from Cherrylana Designs.
